5 Girls Every Guy Should Date

I read this article about how there are 5 types of girls that every guy should date. I assume this is before they tie the knot, swing the other way, or kick the proverbial bucket. It was a quick read but I found it interesting. So, I'm going to take the plunge, go all semi-full disclosure on you and relate these "5 types" to my own personal dating history. Gulp.

Anyone who knows me pretty well knows I get all clammy when it comes to talking about my own person dating history. I prefer to keep things like that on the d-l. To be fair, I'm like that with 90% of my life but who's counting. Anyway, no names ok? To protect the innocent. And guilty.

1. The Older Woman - Evidently dating up provides a world of sophisitication and wisdom in dating that no man can ever comprehend without having been in a relationship with an older woman. I suspect that this age deviation is up-to (and including) girls within 10 years of their age. Like the 19 year old dating the 30 year old in the article. Craddle-robbing? I think not. More like learner's-permit-robbing. Regardless, I have had an experience dating (briefly) a woman of maturity. All of the five years difference. I must say it was a good experience. Oh, had I not found out later she had a serious boyfriend. Awesome.

2. The Free Spirit - I've dated someone I could nearly brand this label on. With M-A-C cosmetics, no less. This was relatively recently, for all blogging purposes, and it was good. It tought me a lot I never knew about myself. Like the fact that I was a baffling bastard and didn't know to express myself in anything but convoluted sentences and poems. Just kidding about the poems. No wait, or am I??

3. The Brainy Chick - To be honest, there wasn't a moment of this relationship I didn't enjoy. The witty banter, the ego-anihillating debates, the mindful presence. It was all pretty damn amazing. Alas, during more and more of those clever conversations I came to realize she had more emotional baggage than layed-off union employees of United Airlines. Marvelous.

4. The Seductress - see Five

5. The Guy's Girl Somehow #4 & #5 found their way into the same person. She was a man-eater and our one month stint made for a lot of wandering eyes (not mine, theirs), and jealous jests but this was doomed from the beginning. Relationships that start out of extreme circumstances never have long-term potential. Neither do those with players/cheats/liars. I have no animosity. Oh. we still have great conversations. I just don't respond. Godspeed to her current boyfriend.

I'm trying to figure out which category I fit into. Seductress? I think not. The older woman? Could happen. Free spirit? Somewhat. That leaves the Brainy Chick and Guy's Girl. Hmmm...not to high on the genius scale. So I'll go with Guy's Girl. Any comments on this is welcome. Tata.
