Have a Listen

Friday, June 10, 2005 by eric yang

So this Tyler Hilton song "When It Comes" popped up on my iPod. It seemed befitting of my mood this morning.

Click here for a listen - Warning: you need iTunes to listen to the song.

In case you're wondering, the song that playing before it was "It's All Good" by DMX. Talk about contrast.

Cappuccino

by eric yang

I told the barrista at Starbucks that I wanted a grande Cappuccino - not fifty shots of espresso and a teaspoon of frothed milk.

My left leg won't stop shaking.

A Picture from the Past

Steve Martin sang about him on a Saturday Night Live skit,
The Egyptians adored him,
But only Knoxville, TN would have a restaurant named after him.

It's King Tut's!

Where else can you drink out of flower jars and not think twice? Ha, I didn't think so...

Nightstand Decor

Tuesday, June 07, 2005 by eric yang

Beyond the requisite alarm clock, overly complex telephone, and aesthetically displeasing lamp, a hotel nightstand is not complete unless it is enshrouded with room service and other late night comestibles. In this case: a healthy portion of guacamole dip, warm corn tortilla chips, the wholly massive portions of a southwestern chicken sandwich with mushrooms, and a couple cups of java to quaff.

Change in size

by eric yang

So, I walked past a co-worker earlier today and noticed she was reading the midweekpost. However, that isn't what made me pause to look and see what she was doing. It was the fact that her face was in an uncomfortable holding pattern approximately 5 inches away from the monitor, yet she was still squinting. I knew right then that it was time to change the font size on the midweekpost. So here it goes... may your eyes continue reading in peace.

In Flight Entertainment

by eric yang

They might not have had a in flight movie per se, but I did just fine with ginger ale. And to answer your question, yes I did take a picture of my complimentary beverage. Doesn't everyone?

By the way, if you're curious how ginger ale really came to be ginger ale as we know it today, then take a look here. Interesting, I suppose.

Sunday morning...

Sunday, June 05, 2005 by eric yang

Waking up Sunday morning, listening to Jamie Cullum croon Singing In the Rain, sipping on freshly brewed hazelnut coffee (good hazelnut coffee requires no cream & sugar), lounging in a comfy leather chair and sharing the moment is a marvelous thing. The temperature has climbed to around 6 degress less than the weatherman predicted for today's high. Eeven though rain is pending I can't help but smile at this quiet little heaven I'm relishing.

The rest of the day probably won't be as tranquil as there's a volleyball game and golfing planned. How this will happen with looming thundershowers is beyond me, but it's never stopped me before. Perhaps I'll manage to lose a shoe on the golf course like I did many a year ago (that's a story in of itself...).

I think I'm going to easy myself into getting ready for the day. Another cup of coffee first. No need to rush... I'll leave that for Monday thru Friday.

I'd watch local news for this guy...

Eric's Word of the Day: Draconian

by eric yang

"I suffer from draconian late fees when I miss the monthly payment for my Banana Republic card. I should have never purchased that alligator skin clutch."

- thought Eric to himself. Followed by,

"Why the hell did I purchase a clutch??"

About

Midweekpost.com is a take on New York City thru the eyes (and camera) of an OCD, ADD, Scorpio written in the timeless, Thoreau inspired, form of blogging. Or as we like to refer to it: ADD writing for ADD reading. It's authored by a most contradictive guy armed with a most applicable Univ. of Tennessee economics degree working in the media industry as a producer (you're damn right that's cliche') of design (huh?) for a major broadcast company's digital initiative (say wha?) that has somehow managed to find his Korean, yet not Korean looking self living in the city that Ambien & Cosmo induced coma never sleeps. All that said, I don't promise greatness and I won't promise awesome but I will promise New York and a little dash o' me.
