Phew Pictures Phrom Prague

Thursday, September 29, 2005 by eric yang

** I had this witty post all written up, but I somehow managed to delete it. I hate myself, oh well - this will just have to do for now. **

Technically I'm in Vienna, Austria right now, but these pictures are from Prague so how's about we just let the terrible title slip this time around. I'm about to pass out from travel exhaustion so I'm going to just throw up four random pics here. I think it's about 1 in the AM over here and I feel like I've been awake since last Saturday.

Ahoj, Ciao, Auf Wiedershen, whatever...

This is Prague Castle. You're looking at the largest castle in the world. I believe it. It's massively gigantic and probably weighs more than the state of South Dakota. It barely fit in the camera perspective and I was at least a click or two away. The bridge you see in the foreground is the famous Charles Bridge - made in 1357 and has withstood the tests of time/floods with no problem. The substance used to strengthen the mortar you ask? Egg yolks... Personally, I take mine sunny side up.

This is a late night shot of the Prague National Theatre. They were having a concert of some type earlier evening and I could barely squeeze thru the sidewalks. Not to mention anyone wearing anything a formal haberdashery would not provide looked completely out of place. Women. Men. They all looked incredible. The building was mighty impressive too.

Here's a picture of my dad attempting to explain Czech history to my, well, Czech friend (Honza, is his name). I simply shook my head and snapped off a shot of him in action.

Here we are at Cesky Krumlov - the second largest castle in Prague. I was castled out the last time I was in Europe but this place sure as hell did make for some good snapshots. Too bad I don't have any here to show you (yet). I do have to give my dad an e-high-five for trying to throw up his collar too.

About

Midweekpost.com is a take on New York City thru the eyes (and camera) of an OCD, ADD, Scorpio written in the timeless, Thoreau inspired, form of blogging. Or as we like to refer to it: ADD writing for ADD reading. It's authored by a most contradictive guy armed with a most applicable Univ. of Tennessee economics degree working in the media industry as a producer (you're damn right that's cliche') of design (huh?) for a major broadcast company's digital initiative (say wha?) that has somehow managed to find his Korean, yet not Korean looking self living in the city that Ambien & Cosmo induced coma never sleeps. All that said, I don't promise greatness and I won't promise awesome but I will promise New York and a little dash o' me.
