Well, it seems that even at 12:31am on Thanksgiving people are out and about in the city. Not much mind you, but still a decent number. I'm ill from fatigue but that hasn't kept me from gorging myself on food, wine, and good coffee. Let's see, quick rundown... Bangers & Mash and Shepards' Pie at Jameson's Pub (complete with Irish accented staff). Steak Tartare and Chocolate Mousse at a French bistro called Felix'. Good times... I better start looking for the long way to work or this food's going to be the death (a happy one at that) of me.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. And the same from, ahem, Fast Freddy's... their motto couldn't be any better.

Er... Camping? Guys and Push-Ups

Wednesday, November 23, 2005 by eric yang

This past weekend before I moved to NYC (so odd to say that...) I partook in a yearly 'camping' trip that I go on with some of my close mates from the college/post-college years. We all live pretty busy lives and some of us don't even live in Knoxville but that hasn't prevented us from doing our yearly camping excursion... which has now matured into a night at a lake house belonging to the Ferraris family. Pathetic? No. Comfortable? Yes. Personally I found the kitchen counter chat to be the hi-lite of the evening. And to answer your question, mass amounts of food products were consumed ranging from slow grilled pork ribs & ginger ale to zebra cakes, oatmeal pies and diet Mountain Dew. Disgustingly awesome.

Anyway, I'm not sure what it is with guys and random challenges but somehow we found ourselves seeing how many push-ups we could do in 2 minutes. Guys can reach a state of euphoria with the most retarded of events... Anyway, Jeremiah came in all Olympian style and set the bar with a bad-ass eighty push-ups in 2 minutes. Wow - and these push-ups were no sissy doodads. Derek ruled with an authorative eye bringing his recently completed military basic training to the 'event'. This, to my chagrin.

Chris gets Engaged.

by eric yang

November is rediculous. It seems like everytime I turn aound something new and major is happening - and they always find their way into the month of November. Maybe it's just the people I'm surrounded by. The number of things that happens is deserving of it's own post, but for now... I'll just say CONGRATULATIONS Chris Jessen...

About

Midweekpost.com is a take on New York City thru the eyes (and camera) of an OCD, ADD, Scorpio written in the timeless, Thoreau inspired, form of blogging. Or as we like to refer to it: ADD writing for ADD reading. It's authored by a most contradictive guy armed with a most applicable Univ. of Tennessee economics degree working in the media industry as a producer (you're damn right that's cliche') of design (huh?) for a major broadcast company's digital initiative (say wha?) that has somehow managed to find his Korean, yet not Korean looking self living in the city that Ambien & Cosmo induced coma never sleeps. All that said, I don't promise greatness and I won't promise awesome but I will promise New York and a little dash o' me.
