So... It's Snowing!

Good god it's snowing. Not good snow either, nasty fatty-McGee snowflakes laden with 10 fl. oz of water in each flake. I'm drenched.

Stop Frontin'

NYC is an absolute craze right now. For some reason shoppers must feel that making their purchases here all that more special... I don't see how an overpriced blender from Williams Sonoma here is any more special than the overpriced blender at Williams Sonoma back in their respective hometowns. Alas, shoppers will be shoppers. I felt a bit low brow having only bought a new $2.47 (sale price) wrench from Radio Shack as I walked past Fendi, Bergdorf Goodman, and Gucci on 5th Ave. Stop frontin'...

Somehow that came across slightly more humorous in my mind and I was going to tie it into the fact that this picture I took this past Saturday of the front of my apartment building. Eh. Anyway, it's the slightly antiquey white bricked building. In case you're wondering. 1) the building to the left is the Ukranian Consulate office to the United Nations. 2) The park this picture is being taken from is Greenacre Park (opposite angle).

Oh yeah, you should click on the pictures because I've gone all fancy and used Flickr so you can leave notes ON the picture all movie-effects like. Seriously, just click on it, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Frugality & Some White Stuff

Sunday, December 04, 2005 by eric yang

I met up with my friend John and his wife Debbie today for brunch after service. 10:45am is far too early for a heavy meal but I'm no longer at the point where I bother myself with such trivial things. Well, one of the things we talked about was how living frugally and practically is difficult in NYC but dammit if we weren't going to try. Having said this, I promptly got on a subway, made my way to midtown and plunked down half a grand on clothes. Nothing I needed. Mmm... pretty sure I'm going to have to rethink my approach to 'frugality'. At least I had a 30% off coupon.

By the way, it snowed last night. I think it's the first of the year. Now about that new jacket...

About

Midweekpost.com is a take on New York City thru the eyes (and camera) of an OCD, ADD, Scorpio written in the timeless, Thoreau inspired, form of blogging. Or as we like to refer to it: ADD writing for ADD reading. It's authored by a most contradictive guy armed with a most applicable Univ. of Tennessee economics degree working in the media industry as a producer (you're damn right that's cliche') of design (huh?) for a major broadcast company's digital initiative (say wha?) that has somehow managed to find his Korean, yet not Korean looking self living in the city that Ambien & Cosmo induced coma never sleeps. All that said, I don't promise greatness and I won't promise awesome but I will promise New York and a little dash o' me.
