Today, a building in Manhattan's Upper East Side collapsed due to a gas explosion. It was a tragic event that seems to have arisen due to even more tragic events, an attempted suicide. These are photos taken of the event post facto. The scene was roped off from public viewing but I managed to take a few shots by passing through unobtrusively. Building explosion/collapse was on 62nd street between Park Avenue and Madison Avenue.

I heard the explosion 11 blocks away...
