The concert was grand and I promise that my opinion isn't skewed from my sexuality-questioning obsession with Josh Rouse. Well at least not a lot.

After getting past the fact that the bass player was a spot-on Napoleon Dynamite (albeit a slightly tubby version) look alike I found myself quite enamored with the music. The fact that they brought on a quartet of talented kids to chime in with some symphonic block rocking beats was a boon.

A while back I had dinner at this place called Steak Frites.

I thought to myself how this was one of those moments where dinner is made all the much better because it's spontaenous and unexpected. That and the fact that our Spanish-ish waiter was sporting more hair gel than I use in an entire week. Oh and the fact that there was also red meat involved. In my case, the special which was simply called "The Cowboy". A large medium rare affair by any standards served up with a healthy vessel of belgium fries. With a glass of Shiraz and ice cold water I couldn't have expected better.

One other thing, because they lost our ticket dessert was on the house (score).

This place gets the Yang Seal of Approval: (2 thumbs up)

Dry Cleaning Faux Paus

A few days ago I picked up my dry cleaning and was handed two garment packages. One containing my dry cleaning (shirts, slacks, etc) and the other containing my dry cleaning bag and one article of clothing. PJ bottoms. I was then asked if it was my intention for them to dry clean these dusk-til-dawn pantalones...

I sheepishly responded... "no" as I looked down in shame. The store attendant gruffly said in broken English "well, we do anyway, four dolla".

(sigh)

There's too much drama in my life. Is anyone around? I need to vent...

Me In One Week

Friday, April 07, 2006 by eric yang

In one week I'm going to make the sojourn to Knoxville (via car) to visit with the fam and drive my arse back up to NYC. As I mentioned below I have no desire of looking for a parking space but I am looking forward to fast food in the car. A most wonderful wonderful event. I can smell the sausage, egg and cheese mcmuffin as I type... hot damn, I'm getting juiced.

Well... I'm back

by eric yang

I must apologize for my hiatus but there are reasons - well not good ones, but reasons nonetheless.

I'll just list off a few here (by god I heart lists):

1. Happy Hours gone awry.
2. A 'few' late nights at work.
3. Updating the hell out of my photoblog, Street & Avenue (yes, I'm blog-wild over here)
4. I think I'm going to be on a David Letterman skit - in the background mind you.
5. I've taken my apartment to an all new level of cleanliness. It's almost scary. :)
6. MySpace (jk... wait, no I'm not)
7. What time I used to spend updating my blog is now being used to catch up on my TiVo.
9. Keeping myself from going to Cute Overload.
10. Finding a parking space in Manhattan for my bloody car, for a decent price. A most impossible task.

About

Midweekpost.com is a take on New York City thru the eyes (and camera) of an OCD, ADD, Scorpio written in the timeless, Thoreau inspired, form of blogging. Or as we like to refer to it: ADD writing for ADD reading. It's authored by a most contradictive guy armed with a most applicable Univ. of Tennessee economics degree working in the media industry as a producer (you're damn right that's cliche') of design (huh?) for a major broadcast company's digital initiative (say wha?) that has somehow managed to find his Korean, yet not Korean looking self living in the city that Ambien & Cosmo induced coma never sleeps. All that said, I don't promise greatness and I won't promise awesome but I will promise New York and a little dash o' me.
