I was browsing around the other day and as I was perusing one of the sites I like to visit, came across something interesting... it was one of my pictures from
Stree & Avenue. Evidently it was the Digital Photography Weblog's photo of the day.

2nd Avenue was closed (literally, for four blocks) the other day for some type of international bazaar and while we were out I took this picture... well more like captures this moment of Erica and her dog Buster and thought it post-worthy. Buster made the perfect face right at me while Erica was looking away from the camera back at the guy yelling "EMPENADAS! SPECIAL THREE FOR TWO DOLLARS! YOU MUST HAVE ONE, FOR TWO DOLLARS YOU REALLY MUST!"
Anyway, the streets smelled of international comestible glory and it took every fiber of my being not to eat something from every stand. Regardless, the empanada stand's guerilla marketing techniques got the better of me as I ordered three empanadas... for, well, two dollars... because well... I really must have.

Oh, I might've been smiling for this picture, but trust me - it wasn't all giggles and chortles later that night when my stomach was reeling from this meal. My thank to the cooking staff of The Gatehouse for a scrupmtious-yet-way-too-much-after-11pm meal.

Ask me what I've done at least three times this past week (besides general hygeine procedures and eating) and I'll point you to this picture. This is the lower floor of the Randall's Island golf range as seen from the miserable camera in my RAZR. This range is surprisingly fantastic. What with it's heated and sectioned hitting slots and well illuminated range, is there anything else a terrible *yet eager to get better* golfer would want?
p.s. those of you who know me can happily celebrate the demise of the 'slice compensator' - it's h.i.s.t.o.r.y.

The other day I met with a couple of friends for drinks at a place called
Tribe in the East Village. I wasn't expecting too much and after arriving and finding that most everyone had left (admittedly I got there kind of late) I ended up having not too shabby of an evening.
Now, I must attribute that to either the
Maker's Mark Highball or the DJ who was hilariously awesome. He was spinning and mixing songs I would have never thought to put together (think Biz Markie over Guns & Roses with an electronic underlay...). Crazy. Crazy awesome. Cheers to you
DJ BabyBlu.
