Food, Folks & Fun

Monday, June 19, 2006 by eric yang

This past Saturday I spent a short while (all 12 hours) at a bbq my friend threw at her pad in Weehawken, NJ. You know, people don't lie when they say that New York is sometimes best appreciated from outside the city. Look at this view from her backyard. Well, the day was a smashing good time and I thoroughly enjoyed the savoriness of grilled food, various salads, beverages, and a bevy of mingling and good convo. Let the Summer begin.

World Cup

by eric yang

I haven't really been watching it as much as I'd like to, but the World Cup kind of has piqued my subconcious in a way, but maybe only because I'm pretty sure I sprained my ankle a few days ago.

America vs. Italy: 1 to 1
Korea vs. France: 1 to 1
Eric vs. Sprain: 0 to 1 (har har)

By the way, 28.8 billion people are watching the World Cup. Let's compare that to the absolutely paltry figure of 100 million who watched the Super Bowl. Yeah, how 'bout them apples.

Father's Day

by eric yang

There is one man who really deserves this day. He's one heckuva dad and I have to give him props for putting up with me for 26 years (so far) and still not manage to miss a beat. Some of you may know him, some of you may not. But whether you do or don't just know this famous adage that will end arguments and conversations from now until the end of time:

"I know everything except the things I don't know..."

Myong-Soo Yang. You rock.

MySpace... Kind of Addicting

by eric yang

I had to admit it but yes it is kind of addicting. Sad, so sad. I think it's the fact that I keep running into people I haven't heard from in a while or just people finding me in general. Too bad it's the biggest waste of time... ever!

About

Midweekpost.com is a take on New York City thru the eyes (and camera) of an OCD, ADD, Scorpio written in the timeless, Thoreau inspired, form of blogging. Or as we like to refer to it: ADD writing for ADD reading. It's authored by a most contradictive guy armed with a most applicable Univ. of Tennessee economics degree working in the media industry as a producer (you're damn right that's cliche') of design (huh?) for a major broadcast company's digital initiative (say wha?) that has somehow managed to find his Korean, yet not Korean looking self living in the city that Ambien & Cosmo induced coma never sleeps. All that said, I don't promise greatness and I won't promise awesome but I will promise New York and a little dash o' me.
