Top 10 Songs, of Tonight

Friday, September 08, 2006 by eric yang

Well, at least the ones that fit the mood I'm in... right now. They kind of go along with the photo too. These are in no order whatsoever.

On Top - The Killers
There's something about listening to this song while driving or walking thru the city.
Nightswimming - REM
Don't tell me this song isn't one of the best ever. Guaranteed to take you back a coupla years.
Could You Be Loved - Bob Marley
Honestly, how could you not love this song? Kick back with a rum runner and just take it in.
Cello Suite #1 in G Major - Johann Sebastian Bach
You've heard it time and time again but it ages so well. It's the best 2 minute classic movement.
Traffic In the Sky - Jack Johnson
This song is so smooth and JJ's layed back voice is like a 7th string on the guitar.
Save It For a Rainy Day - The Jayhawks
The only song that ever made me want to go back to Kansas.
Bom Bom Bom - Ahead of the Lions
Good one to rock out too, in a non-head banging kind of way.
Mama's Room - Under the Influence of Giants
A genuine good fine thru the iTunes music store weekly download. Welcome back 80's.
Mary Jane's Last Dance - Tom Petty
A classic, makes me think of high school.
Africa - Toto
Good god this song is gay but I love it.

Panorama Photos

Thursday, September 07, 2006 by eric yang

In the spirit of full disclosure and the fact that there are hundreds of dozens of people out there that know the intimate details of my life (well... not all of course) I thought I'd share some photos of places you'll find me either on my way to and from work or just kicking back on the weekend. And while I was at it I thought I'd do them in panoramas... everyone loves a good panorama.

Make sure and click on the photos to see the larger versions.

Barnes & Noble Cafe' (mmm, coffee and free magazine)

Greenacre Park (relaxation at it's finest, the greatest reason for justifying why I pay for where I live)

Pranks are Wonderful. Road Trips are Wonderful

This one needs no intro, just watch. It's a classic.

Keane - Under The Iron Sea

Monday, September 04, 2006 by eric yang

Man, I'm a fan of Keane. Did you know they're a guitarless band? Sorry for you guitar folks but I just think that's the cat's meow. To go and make music that sounds that full sans a 6-stringed strummer, well it's a feat. Oh, and welcome back from Labor Day.

I haven't had enough time to soak the album in full my usual 3+ times but I do like the song Crystal Ball. And in the spirit of making things nice and easy here on the ol' m dubbya p, I put the song right up there on the upper right hand corner above the menu. Just click play - it should work.

Photos of the East River

Sunday, September 03, 2006 by eric yang

In case you've wondered what the East River looks like here are a couple of photos I took on a boat ride around Manhattan last week. Don't worry, it wasn't as gloomy as these photos make it out to be. Unlike this past week which has turned out to be a veritable "Charlie Murphy... the darkness"

Clicking on the photos will load larger versions for better viewing. Hmm, that or in case you want to use them as wallpapers. Just a thought. Also, once the photo has loaded you can click back on it to make it dissapear.

About

Midweekpost.com is a take on New York City thru the eyes (and camera) of an OCD, ADD, Scorpio written in the timeless, Thoreau inspired, form of blogging. Or as we like to refer to it: ADD writing for ADD reading. It's authored by a most contradictive guy armed with a most applicable Univ. of Tennessee economics degree working in the media industry as a producer (you're damn right that's cliche') of design (huh?) for a major broadcast company's digital initiative (say wha?) that has somehow managed to find his Korean, yet not Korean looking self living in the city that Ambien & Cosmo induced coma never sleeps. All that said, I don't promise greatness and I won't promise awesome but I will promise New York and a little dash o' me.
