Keepin' y'all in the loop

Well it's LA Bradley again. I know it's been a while since last posting and I'm sorry for that. But what I have for you today should help make that up.

"Do you have money, candy or great advice?"

No my highly-literate and well-read friends.

I have hip-hop culture insight.

For those who know the way Cockney and some Australian slang works where the used word is often a derivative of some rhyming expression you will know hip-hop is much that same way: "Ds" as in, 'throw some Ds (pronounced: deez) on it' is short for 'dub' which is the first sound in 'W' which is the first letter in 'Wheels.' Therefore to "throw some Ds on it" means to put wheels (rims) on a car.

So I'd like to bring you into the loop of "Swayzeing" or "ghosting" or the long form "ghost riding."

Made popular by an E-40 song where he echos "ghost ride the whip," people are starting to ghost ride their cars more and more. There is a great article on Wikipedia about ghost riding but the long and the short of it is a form of car showing birthed in the Oakland area in accordance with the "Hyphy" movement which is linked to "Krunk" or "Krump" dancing (Stomp the Yard).

Simply put the term refers to people allowing their car to either coast or idle in 1st gear and get out and dance around the car, on the hood, roof or trunk or some combination of all. I found this quite amusing video on YouTube that should demonstrate to you how it works--also you will glean about of geography wisdom from these two guys.

My challenge is to see people Ghost Ride their cars (whips) and post the pictures or videos.

You know, I feel like I really connected with those guys -their message was loud and clear. Amen, keep the A's in OAKLAND. Who wants to watch baseball in Freemont anyway?
